About The Event
In response to the wide range of emotions that we as a society are currently experiencing, artist Martin Kersels is developing a glossary of feelings expressed through sound. Created using the body or adjacent objects, this project builds on Kersels ongoing interest in the audio of the everyday. This project also reflects on how we decode the feelings of others. Social distancing and digital communication challenge our ability to read visual cues as we normally would and Kersels clues us into the ways in which our ears can also enable us to be good judges of people and situations we encounter.
For this first of two phases, Kersels will create and share his own sound expressions for (insert number) different emotions. Then we’ll be inviting you to help build up this glossary by sending us sounds responding to each of these emotions. RSVP to participate.
