About The Event

When influential Chinese artist Ma Liang realizes that his father Ma Ke, an accomplished Peking Opera director, is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, he invites his father to collaborate on their most ambitious project to date--an autobiographical stage performance featuring life-size mechanical puppets that travel through time to revisit shared memories. Through the creation of this play, both men grapple with their mortality, fading memories, imminent loss, and the generational divide between a father and son coming of age before and after the Cultural Revolution. Documenting the making of this haunting and magical play, Our Time Machine examines familial love, artistic legacy, and the relentless momentum of time passing.

Seating is limited, please RSVP to info@ocma.net. Unclaimed reservations will be released prior to the start of the film.
